Amanda, Youth Services Director
She/Her
As the Youth Services Director at Ophelia’s Place, Amanda is responsible for overseeing all After and Out-of-School programs and teams. Using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, and with a passion for positive youth development, Amanda ensures that programming is accessible and relevant to the youth we serve at OP. Amanda has worked and volunteered in the youth development field for more than a decade, including in program management roles in organizations focused on youth leadership, outdoor education and camp programs, as well as youth homelessness and crisis services. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Oregon in 2016, Amanda worked as a legislative policy advisor for the Oregon Department of Treasury, before returning to her roots in youth development, and to her love of empowerment-based programming. Amanda believes that all youth deserve an opportunity to thrive.
Amanda would tell her 13-year-old-self that she is valuable and loveable without needing to be perfect. She is so much more than the expectations of others.
