What we do to help.
OP provides a solid foundation of connection and empowerment to bring out the best in girls and help them navigate life’s challenges with more joy and confidence. Our four programs include:
After & Out-of-School Programs
Our on-site and girl-only afterschool programs give girls a safe, nurturing, and inspiring space to unplug, play, grow, and connect with friends. Here, girls are heard and supported by caring adults who provide the resources they seek to face everyday challenges with confidence and optimism.
If she’s interested in learning more about herself and her interests or how to navigate the world around her–there’s something great for every girl at Ophelia’s Place.
School Partnerships
When it comes to supporting girls and youth and preparing them to thrive in their tween and teen years and beyond, school is a critical part of the equation. That’s why we partner with school districts across Oregon to provide Girl Empowerment Groups, Young Amazing Women of Color groups, and more.
We also help build youth and community allies through staff and parent trainings and class presentations to all students. Training and presentations cover a variety of timely topics like media and body image and healthy relationships.
Strength-based, Accessible Therapy for All
Some topics are too raw or personal for a class presentation. That’s why we offer individual therapy, family therapy, and support groups to more fully and effectively support girls, youth, and families. Our strength-based approach addresses the gamut of mental health issues adolescents may face. The best part is: we don’t bill insurance and have a sliding fee scale so no one is turned away from life-changing therapy for a lack of ability to pay.
Training & Professional Development for Youth-serving Adults
All young people — and especially girls — need supportive adults. OP offers opportunities for adult allies and advocates, including Professional Development to youth-serving organizations, local and state government agencies, health professionals, businesses, mental health organizations and community organizations. OP also offers opportunities for parents, including support groups and resources.
