Casey, Therapist

She/Her

Respecting individuals as a culmination of unique experience, conditioning, and environmental, social, and multicultural influences, Casey approaches therapy from a cognitive and narrative perspective. Casey believes the stories we tell ourselves are sacred and the context from which they are forged is meaningful. She aims to help examine and dissect myths of self by providing support and a safe space to do so. Stories can be labeled as epic triumphs or tragedies due to unchallenged social expectations and comparisons. In examining the narrative, Casey seeks to empower clients to identify these points of pressure and judgement, challenge them, and break a cycle that feeds into negative self-image and behaviors produced of these thoughts and feelings. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and a client-centered approach, Casey believes that a therapeutic environment can help each client generate their own growth, acknowledge their strengths, turn compassion inwards, and feel prepared to challenge incongruent thoughts and societal influences that tell them they are anything less than enough. Casey holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completed her internship at Ophelia’s Place prior to becoming staff. Before becoming a therapist, Casey served as a sergeant specializing in cryptologic linguistics in the US Army.

Casey is a Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Jessica Sarontay, LPC #C5736.

Casey would tell her 13-year-old self that there are stars up there with your name on them, too. No one is going to tell you they are waiting for you to reach out and grab them, so don’t wait for permission. Rope the moon while you’re at it.
