FOR GIRLS | THERAPY

Therapy and support options

Everyone can benefit from therapy. We provide professional individual, family, and group therapy for girl-identified and gender-expansive youth ages 10-18. Whether experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family conflict, gender/sexuality exploration, or many other reasons to explore therapy, youth can experience OP’s strengths-based, goal-oriented approach. They can feel supported, self-actualize their strengths, and practice new skills for coping with difficult feelings or challenges.

Our therapists have master’s degrees or are interns in master’s degree programs for Social Work or Couples and Family Therapy, and have lots of experience working with youth and their families. Therapy services at OP are provided to girls via virtual telehealth (or in-person post-pandemic) regardless of income level. We have sliding scale payment options so no youth is turned away due to financial barriers. OP does not offer mental health or psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnoses or labels, medication prescriptions or adjustments, mandated services or adult therapy. We do not accept payments via insurance, including OHP.

Before seeing a therapist, you must complete an orientation. Call 541.284.4333 to learn more.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or considering harming yourself, please call 9-1-1, or contact one of the following 24-hour crisis and support resources. OP does not provide crisis services and we want you to be taken care of.

Family Therapy

Family therapy at OP is youth-centric. When you invite family into your sessions , family members can use the opportunity to learn about your needs and how they can support you. Our therapists have formal education in couples and family therapy, and are trained in relational work.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a valuable way for you to discuss concerns and feel supported by each other under the supervision of a therapist. During our groups, OP therapists offer guided discussions, interactive skill-building activities, and opportunities for creative expression.

Group Therapy Opportunities

Parent-Daughter Circle

Girls and their adults can find it challenging to communicate and connect with each other, whether it’s day-to-day, or during specific moments. OP’s Parent-Daughter Circle, girls and their adults strengthen the skills they need to communicate better, honor boundaries, and be supportive of each other. Parent-Daughter Circle is a great companion to other parent-daughter activities at OP available through our After and Out-of-School Program.

Queer Space

Queer Space is our weekly support group for members of the LGBTQIA+Queer community of girls, trans youth, and those who are non-binary, gender nonconforming, and gender fluid. The group provides professional and peer support that is helpful in managing challenges or discussing topics, including coming-out stories, queerphobia, depression and anxiety, media representation, personal sexuality and gender exploration, and personal mental health. It’s a great way build community in a safe, well-informed, and supportive space. Check out our video about Queer Space!
