Ophelia’s Gems

2019 Ophelia’s Gems

Thank you to all of our attendees and sponsors for making this year’s Gems event a success!

Each fall, Ophelia’s Place organizes Ophelia’s Gems, a fundraiser that supports a significant portion of our operating costs. The event is filled with food, silent and live auction, and a lot of fun. Ophelia’s Place takes the opportunity to showcase the youth who have benefited from utilizing some of our services, and we provide an achievement award to someone in our Eugene, Junction City, or Albany service areas.

This year, we celebrated Ophelia’s Place’s founder, Rosaria Haugland’s 80th birthday and her incredible generosity that’s given youth the tools and support to become independent, informed, strong adults.

Rosaria created Ophelia’s Place to allow girls to learn from each other, form friendships, and explore their interests. Since 2005, the Eugene center has operated as a space for girls to grow and learn about themselves, while also learning how to overcome difficult and stressful times in a space where counseling and supportive adults are readily available. Since then, Ophelia’s Place has grown to include our Junction City location, and has reached thousands of youth through our school programs throughout Lane and Linn counties, all with her mission at the forefront.
