Junction City Spring Calendar of Events


Monday – Wednesday
3-6 p.m.
After school drop-in is a positive and relaxing environment where young women can hang out, eat a nutritious snack, do homework, engage in craft activities, and spend time with friends. All girls are welcome in our safe and supportive space. No registration is required.

Women’s Advisory Council for Youth (WACY)
Thursdays, April 4th-June 14th
3:30-4:30 p.m.
Girls ages 14-18
WACY is a volunteer group committed to leadership, empowerment, and equality for all people. We support the mission of OP through awareness raising, advocacy, and fundraising activities…with fun, humor, and chocolate! Youth-led and directed, come join us to make a difference, make friends, and get great volunteer experience! Facilitated by OP staff. No registration required. Earth Day Planting Party
Wednesday, April 25th (Early Release Day)
1:30-3:30 p.m. | FREE
In collaboration with the JC Garden Club, we will paint pots and plant flowers to take home or use to decorate the building. No registration is required, just come ready to get creative and connect to our beautiful planet!

GRRL Jamz Acoustic Rock Orchestra
Saturday, April 28th
1-2:30 p.m. | FREE
Rock Orchestra is an all-inclusive rock band experience. Learn the popular songs you love, try a variety of instruments, and have fun! In this acoustic workshop, you can try out the ukulele, guitar, violin and viola, keyboards, and double bass. All instruments and equipment provided. Complete beginners and experienced players welcome! Advanced registration is required for this event and spots are limited.

Trip to Wildlife Refuge
Monday, May 14th (No School Day)
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. | FREE
Travel with OP and Northwest Youth Corp to explore the stunning landscapes and wildlife at the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge. This is an opportunity to learn more about nature and see wildlife that we don’t normally experience. We will also play games along a hiking trail that takes us through nearly every habitat in the refuge. Advanced registration is required and spots are limited. Please bring a rain-jacket, sturdy shoes, a lunch and a journal/notebook for a creative activity.

Stronger than You Know Bracelet Workshop
Wednesday, May 23rd (Early Release Day)
1:30-4 p.m. | FREE
Facilitated by an OP volunteer, girls will design and create their own empowerment bracelets. Come design a piece of jewelry that reminds you how awesome you are! Advanced registration is required and spots are limited.

Summer Kick-off Party
Monday, June 18th
3-6 p.m. | FREE
Hang out, relax, and celebrate the end of the school year with us. We will have activities and snacks available. Come learn about our summer camps and get excited for three months of sunshine! No advanced registration is required.
