February 2017 marked Ophelia’s Place inaugural Stronger Than You Know Conference with the theme, “Girls and Resilience.” This conference, developed by Ophelia’s Place staff, addresses the unique challenges girls face as adolescents, and offers tools and resources to empower girl-identified youth, through a gender-specific and trauma-informed lens. This two-day conference is an incredible professional development opportunity for educators, counselors, teachers, social workers and other youth-serving professionals.

Since 2008, Ophelia’s Place has brought Girls Rule! to the Eugene/Springfield community. This parent-daughter fair is for girls ages 9-14 and a caring adult to attend in pairs and spend the day strengthening their relationship, through interactive, hands-on workshops. Since 2016, the event has focused on empowering girls to pursue interest in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) subjects. Past workshops have included computer programming, rock orchestra, financial literacy, biology, botany, natural sciences and more.

Trivia Night puts the “fun” in fundraising! Go head-to-head with other teams for the trivia night title and trophy while helping raise money for Ophelia’s Place summer programs for girls. Summer programs include 4-day summer camps, starting in July and ending in August. Previous camps have included:
• Outdoor Adventure Camp
• Cooking of Latin America
• Expressive Arts Camp, and more
Trivia Night is hosted at Ninkasi Brewing where attendees enjoy a catered meal, beer and non-alcoholic beverages, provided by Ophelia’s Place.

Ophelia’s Gems is the annual dinner auction and fundraiser for Ophelia’s Place. Previously an invite-only event, Gems is now open to any interested persons or parties that support our mission and would like to attend.
In 2016, we awarded Lynn Frohnmayer with the first inaugural Rosaria P. Haugland Award. This award honors those who have made an impact in the lives of youth. Lynn embodies the qualities and characteristics we nurture in Ophelia’s Place girls and she has tremendously impacted the lives of hundreds of youth over the years.
The event includes a silent auction, oral auction and dinner.
